Web push notifications

Win back the visitors who left — no app required.

Most people who visit your site never come back on their own. Web push fixes that: a single click and you can message them again — right on their phone or laptop browser, long after they’ve closed your tab. No app to build, no phone numbers, no SMS bills. Perfect for nudging an abandoned cart, announcing a flash sale, or pulling readers back to your latest story. ReachBell runs the opt-in prompt, delivery, retries, and analytics — you just write the message. Built in India, billed in INR with GST invoices.

Turn more visitors into subscribers

Your subscriber list is the whole game — a bigger list means more sales you can trigger later. Design the opt-in prompt visually (wording, colours, position, when it appears) and ship changes instantly, no developer needed. Show it after someone’s read a bit, not the second they land, and watch opt-ins climb.

Notifications people actually tap

Add a title, a line of text, a hero image, a badge, and up to two buttons like “Buy now” and “View cart.” Drop in emoji and personalise with merge tags — e.g. “Still thinking it over, {{name}}? Your cart’s waiting 🛒” or a deal for shoppers in {{city}}.

Send the right message to the right people

Blasting everyone burns your list. Target by city, device, browser, tags, or how recently someone visited — so a Mumbai-only sale reaches Mumbai, and a “come back” nudge goes only to people who’ve gone quiet. Save a segment once and reuse it everywhere.

Find the headline that wins

Not sure whether “Flat 40% off ends tonight” or “Your size is back in stock” pulls more clicks? Test both. ReachBell splits your audience evenly, measures click-through, and rolls out the winner — so every future send is sharper.

Never annoy your audience

Over-messaging is the fastest way to get blocked. Set a daily cap and quiet hours per project — say, nothing after 10pm IST — and ReachBell quietly skips anything over the limit instead of failing it. Stay top of mind without becoming the brand people mute.

See exactly what worked

For every campaign you get the numbers that matter — how many were delivered, shown, and clicked — with UTM tags added automatically so the traffic shows up cleanly in Google Analytics. No inflated vanity stats. Export to CSV whenever you need it.

Reaches your customers wherever they browse.

Web push is built into every major browser, so there’s nothing for your customers to install — they tap “Allow” once and you can reach them from then on. ReachBell uses the open, browser-native standard (the same Push API behind notifications on Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari, on both desktop and Android), so it just works without any lock-in. And the list you build is genuinely yours: every subscriber lives in your own project and you can export them any time.

  • Works across Chrome, Firefox, Edge & Safari — desktop and Android
  • One-click subscribe: no app download, no login, no phone number
  • Your subscriber list is yours — export it whenever you want
  • We auto-clean dead subscribers (people who uninstalled or cleared their browser) so your numbers stay real
  • Sent securely over your own domain — the green-padlock HTTPS browsers require for push

How it works

Live in an afternoon.

No SDK wrestling, no DevOps tickets — most teams finish setup before their chai goes cold.

  1. Add ReachBell to your site

On WordPress, install our plugin and you’re done. On Shopify or a custom site, paste three lines of code before the </body> tag and upload one small file we give you to your site root — that file is what lets notifications arrive even after people leave. Five minutes, and you only do it once.

  2. Design your opt-in prompt

In the dashboard, pick a gentle prompt or a bell button, write the ask (“Get sale alerts and order updates?”), choose when it pops up, and preview it live. Publish in a click — nothing to redeploy, no developer required.

  3. Send your first notification

Write a title and message, attach an image if you like, pick who gets it (everyone, or a segment like “added to cart, didn’t buy”), and hit send. Watch deliveries and clicks roll in live.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Everything teams usually ask before switching. Something missing? Email us — a human replies.

What exactly is a web push notification?

It’s a short message that pops up on someone’s phone or computer screen — like an app notification, but sent from your website. The reader taps “Allow” once on your site, and after that you can reach them even when they’re not on your site. No app, no SMS, no email address needed.

Do I need to build an app to send these?

No. That’s the whole point. Web push works right inside the browser using a standard every major browser supports. Your visitors subscribe with one click on your website — no Play Store, no App Store, no downloads, no review queues, no developer team.

Do notifications still arrive after someone closes my website?

Yes — that’s what makes web push powerful. On Android phones and Chromebooks, notifications arrive even with the browser fully closed. On Windows and Mac, the browser needs to be running, which it almost always is in the background. On iPhones and iPads, web push works on iOS 16.4 and later once the visitor adds your site to their Home Screen (a two-tap “Add to Home Screen” from Safari).

What kind of results do Indian e-commerce and D2C brands see?

The biggest wins are cart recovery and sale alerts. A typical flow: a shopper adds a kurta to their cart, gets distracted, and leaves — an hour later they get “Your cart’s about to expire — Flat 10% off if you check out now 🛒” and come back to buy. Brands also use it for restock alerts, payday and festival sales (Diwali, Big Billion-style events), and order-shipped updates. Because there’s no per-message cost like SMS, you can run these at scale without watching a meter.

Can news, media, and content sites use it too?

Absolutely — it’s one of the best channels for bringing readers back. News and entertainment sites send breaking-news alerts (“⚡ Budget 2026: income tax slabs revised — read now”), match score updates, and “new episode / new article” pings. Readers who opt in tend to return far more often than those who rely on remembering to visit.

How many people will actually opt in?

It depends heavily on timing. If you ask the moment someone lands, most say no. If you ask after they’ve shown interest — read part of an article, browsed a couple of products — opt-ins are much healthier. ReachBell’s prompt designer lets you test the wording, timing, and placement so you can steadily improve your opt-in rate rather than guessing. (We don’t promise a magic number — anyone who does is guessing.)

Will this annoy my visitors or hurt my brand?

Only if you over-send — so ReachBell makes that hard to do by accident. Set a daily cap and quiet hours (for example, nothing between 10pm and 8am IST), and we’ll skip anything over the limit instead of sending it. Every notification also carries a one-tap way to unsubscribe, so the people who stay are the ones who actually want to hear from you.

Can I move my existing subscribers over from another provider?

Honestly, not directly — and that’s true of every web push tool, not just ours. For privacy reasons, browsers tie each subscriber to the specific service that collected them, so no provider can hand that list to another. The good news: re-collecting is quick with a well-placed prompt, and your tags and message templates import easily via CSV or our API.

Is it really free to start, and how is billing handled in India?

Yes — your first 1,000 subscribers are free, no credit card required to begin. When you grow beyond that, you’re billed in INR with a proper GST invoice, so it slots straight into your accounting. No surprise dollar charges or forex markups.
